Due to its geographic position and favourable climate, Bosnia and Herzegovina has long had a reputation for diverse high quality forest biomass.

Forests cover around 50 % of the country's total territory, and primary and secondary wood processing tradition has lasted for the last 150 years.
This favourable climate ensures that all types of wood from this region have a very stable structure and high quality, and additional thermal processing (steaming and drying) improves their characteristics in accordance to the required quality standards.
